Doctor Bird Power Station

Jamaica Energy Partners (JEP) is the largest of the three Independent Power Providers operating on the island of Jamaica. JEP owns and operates two power barges, Dr Bird I and Dr. Bird II. Both power barges are located on the seacoast at Old Harbour Bay, St. Catherine, about 40 KM west of Kingston.

Jamaica Energy Partners has over 100 employees and in 2006 won the JEF's Employer of Choice Award in Employee Satisfaction Rating for year 2005. The company has partnered with the Caribbean Maritime Institute to provide on the job training for the Institute’s cadets.
