Kingston Western Community Safety and Security hosts annual Summer Camp for youths

The annual Kingston Western Community Safety and Security, an arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, hosted its annual Summer Camp from August 17 – 20, 2022, under the theme “Empowering to be the best version of myself.” One hundred youngsters between 12 and 17 years old from the Western Kingston communities engaged in various activities.

The participants took advantage of this opportunity to build lasting friendships whilst developing a good rapport with their supervisors. Furthermore, this opportunity enabled the campers to socialize with persons from different communities and moral and social backgrounds.

Due to the stigma attached to these communities, youth crimes, unemployment, low self-esteem, and the general ‘feeling of hopelessness’, the aim was to emancipate, elevate, empower, and provide a structured learning environment that enhances learning through different skills.
West Kingston Power Partners have been supporting the West Kingston Western Division for more the ten years and will continue to shape the lives of our youngsters through initiatives such as this.
