Mr Cecil Gordon

Chief Technical Officer

Cecil Gordon has over 25 years’ experience in the energy sector. He graduated from the University of Technology in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Power Engineering (Hons). He later completed his Master of Business Administration degree at Nova South-eastern University in 1998.

Cecil joined JEP in December 2000 as Operations Engineer prior to being promoted to Plant Manager in September 2002 and Director of Generation in 2012. He currently serves as the Chief Technical Officer of Jamaica Energy Partners’ (JEP), West Kingston Power Partners (WKPP) and Jamaica Private Power Company (JPPC).

Cecil was an integral member of the capacity expansion team that developed and implemented the Dr. Bird II project valued at US$56M. He has contributed significantly to the growth and success of the Company, serving as the Deputy Project Manager / Site Manager for the 66MW expansion project. In this capacity, he served as part of the contracts negotiating team.

Cecil is a member of the Old Harbour Bay Community Development Association and is currently a Technical Director of the Jamaica Environment Trust, an NGO. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
