Powering a
Brighter Future.

Upcoming Events

Our goal is to make a positive contribution to society and to provide numerous opportunities for human development through impactful and sustainable initiatives under our four main pillars: Education, Environment, Health and Sports.

Education & Skills Training

We believe that our young people are vital to Jamaica’s future, have great ideas and dreams that can make a difference. To support our next generation of leaders and recruit energetic talent, we have disbursed millions of dollars in scholarships and grants over the years.

To ensure the communities within which we operate can thrive, be resilient, and sustainable, we have invested in school support programs to cater to both the nutritional and infrastructural needs of institutions across Eastern Kingston, Western Kingston, and Old Harbour Bay.

Environment

As avid advocates for the environment, Jamaica Energy Partners currently sits on the boards of several NGOs including the Jamaica Environment Trust, Montego Bay Marine Park and the Jamaica Conservation Development Trust. We also participate in yearly events such as International Coastal Clean-up Day, National Tree Planting Day and Schools’ Environmental Programmes.

Health

As part of JEP’s mission to strengthen our health sector, the company donates to institutions such as Spanish Town Hospital, National Chest Hospital, Kingston Public Hospital and the Victoria Jubilee Hospital. We also make it our duty to organize annual Blood Drives as well as bi-annual Health and Dental Fairs where residents are treated to complimentary medical and non-medical services.

Sports

Our involvement in sports promotes unity in the communities and encourages a culture of discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork. For example, in 1995, JEP established the Jamaica Energy Partners’ Cricket Competition that has developed talents such as Shakar Thomas, Tamar Lambert, Andre Russell and Nkrumah Bonner, all of whom competitively and successfully represent Jamaica and the Caribbean region.

Scholarships

Over 50 awardees at the primary and tertiary levels can benefit from scholarships or grants to support their academic pursuits. The year on year commitment covers tuition, books and material to lay the building blocks for the academic success of students in our social impact areas of East Kingston, West Kingston, and Old Harbour Bay.

Volunteer

Each year, the JEP group hosts community dental and health fairs as well as collaborates with environmental and health partners to execute coastal clean-ups, tree planting exercises, Labour Day projects, cancer awareness drives and school programmes that you can be a part of.

Responsibility Reports

The JEP group Corporate Responsibility report focuses on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues that are critical to our stakeholders, investors, customers, host governments, local communities and team. This document is compiled in tandem with subject-matter experts across the group to ensure accuracy and relevancy of the reported data.

The annually compiled Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reports share the impact of our group’s commitments and activities throughout the year with regards to education, the environment, sports and improving access to health at the community and national levels. Also included, and of particular note, the CSR reports include our progress towards achieving the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) shared by United Nations member states are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

For many years, team members at Jamaica Energy Partners (JEP) plant in Old Harbour have given back to the community of Old Harbour Bay through educational grants and scholarships, school feeding programmes, the hosting of free-of-cost health and dental fairs for residents and donations to community partners, stakeholders and persons in need. Teams at West Kingston Power Partners (WKPP) and Jamaica Private Power Company (JPPC) have extended the founding company’s reach and contributions to communities in the social impact areas we have adopted, stretching from West Kingston to East Kingston and Port Royal.
