Powering Performance from Community Courts to National Pride
West Kingston Power Partners (WKPP) continues to expand its investment in youth and sports development through its support of national netball programmes, reinforcing its commitment to empowering young athletes and strengthening Jamaica’s sporting pipeline.
This partnership reflects a shared vision with Netball Jamaica to support the sport at multiple levels, from grassroots participation to elite competition, ensuring that talent is nurtured and prepared for national and international success.
Supporting a Growing National Programme
Netball Jamaica’s 2026 Club League highlights the scale and reach of the sport across the island. The competition features:
- 96 teams, representing a 20% increase year over year
- Over 1,300 female athletes
- More than 400 matches across 30 match days
- Participation from Kingston & St. Andrew, St. Catherine, St. Thomas, Clarendon, Manchester and St. Ann
This level of engagement underscores the importance of sustained corporate support in expanding opportunities for young women in sport.
Developing Jamaica’s Next Generation of Athletes
The Club League serves as a critical feeder system for Jamaica’s national netball programme, helping to identify and prepare athletes for higher levels of competition.
Participants are part of a structured pathway that supports readiness for major regional and international events, including:
- Commonwealth Games 2026
- CAC Games 2026
- Netball World Cup 2027
WKPP’s support contributes directly to strengthening this pipeline, ensuring that athletes have access to the environment and exposure needed to grow.
Strengthening the Pathway to Elite Competition
Complementing grassroots development is Netball Jamaica’s Elite League, which represents the highest level of domestic competition.
This high-performance environment brings together current and former national players alongside emerging talent, creating a space that mirrors international standards of play. It plays a key role in sharpening technical skills, match readiness and overall performance.
Together, the Club and Elite Leagues form a comprehensive system that sustains Jamaica’s strong netball legacy.
A Shared Commitment to Youth Empowerment
“This partnership reflects our continued commitment to investing in young people and creating opportunities for growth through sport,” said Wayne McKenzie. “Netball remains one of the most impactful platforms for empowering young women in Jamaica, and we are proud to support initiatives that help them develop both on and off the court.”
Beyond competition, the partnership supports broader development priorities, including youth empowerment, community engagement and structured programmes that benefit athletes and their families.
Building Impact Beyond the Court
Through its support of national netball, WKPP continues to play an important role in strengthening communities and supporting the development of young women across Jamaica.
This investment reflects a long-term commitment to creating opportunities, building confidence and enabling athletes to realise their full potential.
As the 2026 season progresses, the impact of this partnership will continue to extend beyond the court, shaping the future of the sport and the communities it represents.
